Business Coaching
March 6, 2010
I am very pleased to see that many entrepreneurs are now realising the benefits of coaching and mentoring support to fast track their business development and growth. However, one cannot deny that there are still those who remain sceptical about the value of a coaching or mentoring programme primarily because their experiences with a coach or mentor have not always led them to the desired results.
Let me assure you that every coaching and mentoring programme you obtain through myself, or those associated with my company will result in the outcomes that were agreed from the onset of the programme. Whilst I am acutely aware that I am sticking my neck out here for others, I have to also draw your attention to the importance of playing your role in the coaching and mentoring programme. It is widely believe and accepted that one will only get as much as they invest in training and coaching programme as well as the investments of the coach or mentor. And so, it is important you realise this point from the onset.
When it comes to me coaching and mentoring you, I have very strict processes in place. It is not an automatic process. I do not want your money if you are not serious enough to learn and make changes to your life. I only coach or mentor people who are serious about achieving personal and business success.
Consequently the first step you will need to take is to complete an application form before I can definitely confirm that you will be coached by me or an associate of my company. It is so important that we establish this point from the onset. Some of our partners offering e-commerce solutions also offer similar selective approaches in people they mentor or coach.

Leadership
January 21, 2010
Do you have what it takes to lead your business?
Women in business and black business owners need to develop their leadership skills if they are to be taken seriously in the market place. Acquiring leadership skills is one of those subjects that many entrepreneurs may have frequently heard about but seldom gave much thought about its relevance to their business until something dramatically goes wrong.
In some circles, it is not unusual to find people jockeying for the title of leadership, without full acceptance of the responsibilities that come with the package. Typically, when a business commences, an entrepreneur may or may not mentally grasp the significance of the decision they have taken. They may not understand that their decision to start a business is in fact a clear demonstration of some elements of leadership on their part, which may need to be fully developed so that their business will in the future reap from the enriching benefits of effective leadership.
Depending on which part of the world you are from, your understanding and definition of leadership may differ considerably. For this reason, you need to have a healthy perception of what it takes to be an effective leader if you are to influence people towards your particular cause. Here are some definitions of a leader.
A leader is someone who influences others to follow a particular course of action. A leader is someone who positively persuades and takes others into uncharted territory.
A leader is someone who gives direction and leads others towards that direction.
• A leader is someone who nurtures others and gets the best out of them so that they can maximize their potential
• A leader is someone who takes someone from ground zero to ground hero
• A leader is someone who provides guidance and support to achieve a particular goal
• A leader is someone who effects change even in the face of opposition with a strong sense of belief in the good that such a change will yield the wider world.
The definition of a leader can go on and on ……………………………..

Women In Business Enterprise Support- Personal Development Training & Business Financial Solutions
August 18, 2008
Hello it is Sheila again. I know there are lots of women out there trying to joggle their day to day business activities with the need for networking, training and dare I say raising finance. Ever wondered whether there is a way out of this. I stumbled recently on something I want to share with you. You may have heard about it but then again you may have not heard about it. Well there are two things actually. One is to do with personal development training that women (and men) can access from the comfort of your own and the other is to do with knowledge women in particular can immediately access to spruce up their capacity to raise finance.
I always believe that in this age of technology everything is possible. All you have to do is ask the universe in faith and things will start flooding towards you. Yeah, some of you will be wondering whats this all about. Well, hear me out. How would you like the likes of Brian Stacey, Zig Ziglar, Les Brown and Robert Kiyosaki to training you whilst you are at home. How badly would you like to spruce up your marketing and selling skills learning techniques from Jay Abraham? How would you like to start learning about multiple sources of income from the likes of Robert Allen and the best of it you are doing this from the comfort of your own home. Ladies, I don’t know about you, when I saw this package I was thrilled and I have got to share it will you immediately. Someone once said that that there are two ways to spread information:
1. Telegraph
2. Tell a woman
I dare say I am doing well on the second front. Success University is here to take the stress out of your personal development needs. You can learn a lot about how you can be helped as part of their system. For the amount of money involved and the guarantee given by the top gurus behind it is worth your time to find out more. Take a look at this site where you are going to learn about Success University http://www.bss.successuniversity.com
The second thing I want to share is that you can now learn all you want to know about the world of raising finance just by access a system we have Finance for Women Package. Lets me tell you why this is so important for you; rest assured the concepts and information you need to know have been simplified for you and “Yes” it was done all done by three women in a language called “Feminise”- joke, I made that up. We want to make sure you get a firm grasp of how to prepare for the financial market and confidently get what you want. Women that have seen this system so far have gone through it and said “Wow” why did I not know about this in time. Well you now know is my very own response to them.
As always, I am on the look out on how women in business can be supported effectively. http://www.bsslearningcenter.com and click financial solutions under BSS products and you will find out more about this.
I am in love with Leadership
July 12, 2008
I once came across someone who loved the title of a leader but did not want to acquire the qualities of a true leader. Needless to say, his story was a sad case.
The story goes like this, this man had been with his company for over 20 years and had been promoted into a leadership position because of his long term service. This leader had nothing good to say about his staff. He perpetually focussed on their weaknesses, often putting them down and telling them how bad they are at their work. After a few years in this position as a leader, all the staff looked up to him for guidance as he had destroyed all the confidence they had in themselves and can no longer trust their own judgement. The staff came to that place in their lives where they believed that their so-called leader was the only one with brains to think correctly and achieve results. Needless to say this leader had his staff relying on him for almost everything and anything. His ego was puffed up, however his results were nowhere close to the departmental goals. He blamed the appalling results on his staff and never once asked what he could do differently. With the passing of time he discovered that whenever his company re-organised its services, his rank in the organisation was slowly diminishing. It got to a point where the leader no longer had the status of a leader in the company and, it was at that point he realised that by crying down his staff, what he really was saying is, I cannot lead these people because I have not got what it takes to lead. What do you think this leader should have done differently? Your comments will be welcome.
Here is another question; do you have what it takes to be a leader or are you just in love with the title “Leader”? Do you know what it takes to be a great leader?
Leadership skills are essential for success in business and if you are a woman in business it is extremely vital you strengthen your knowledge and skills in this area.
If you are to become a leader, there are certain principles you must cultivate in your repertoire of skills set.
• Learn to give yourself instruction and follow it.
• Take control of your thoughts
• Be clear about your vision
• Blast out procrastination
• Learn the art of removing barriers
• Learn to take risks
• Learn to see beyond limitations
• Learn to support people to utilise their potential
• Learn to respect and value people
• Learn to communicate effectively
• Always be honest and true to self and others
• Be a good role model
• Learn how to see the big picture.
Which of the above do you currently struggle with? I will be more than grateful to hear your comments on this blog post.
Do women in business need personal development to succeed?
July 2, 2008
If you are like me, you would have asked this question and perhaps come up with answers that are convincing or not so convincing. Hey, I have a strong confession to make right away, I am a personal development fanatic- I sleep, dream, live and eat the subject of personal development. I am wholeheartedly committed to it and you will soon find out why.
In truth, I will take the view that every one needs personal development to succeed but from my experience of working with women in business and black businesses, there appears to be a greater need for personal development skills and leadership skills by these groups. There is a whole range of reasons for this some of which are rooted in our cultural upbringing and the expectations of women in society.
It is my view that the human potential can never be tapped to its maximum until all the tools we were born with are fully and appropriately utilised . Some people think that what they learn in school, college or university is sufficient to help them achieve their goals. How wrong they are. For one thing, our academic education only focuses on developing some aspects of our lives- the intellect. But we are more than our intellect, which is where personal development plays a greater role in moulding us to become a rounded person.
Some of you may be wondering just what is personal development? Well let me give you my own simple definition of personal development. I am sure someone may come up with a better definition and that is ok. Personal development is concerned with developing the whole person which includes the emotional management, intellectual management and mindset. Statistics show that 85% of our success is down to our attitude as opposed to our technical skills. Wow!! This means that only 15% of our success is down to technical competencies. So if you make the mistake of focussing on technical competencies at the expense of your attitude you are doomed- so to speak. When I discovered this lesson some years back, I was so stunned and I started thinking why do our schools spend hard earned cash grooming us for less than 15% of what we will need to succeed in life? Why do they spend time teaching us to count as opposed to teaching us what counts in life? The truth is, the answers to these questions, are less clear to me. However, one thing is certain, personal development is critical for success in business and other aspects of our lives. These are some of the benefits of personal development:
• You learn how to set clear goals and manage activities to achieve them
• You learn how to develop your inner tools to manifest what you want to see on the outside.
• You learn how to manage you thoughts and emotions
• You learn how to build & manage relationships through effective listening and communications skills
• You learn how to motivate yourself and others and more…..
As a business coach and mentor, I get to teach women in business and black business owners personal development and leadership skills all the time. By the time I take clients through the first session, the response is normally “Wow”. I use tools that are appropriate to the clients needs and one thing you can be sure of is confidentiality and respect.
